Group F Betting Odds
Argentina has the second best odds to win the World Cup and, by far, the best odds to win Group F. Not a big shock there, as after them the group is not a strong one. Bosnia and Herzegovina won their group in the European qualifying and they will likely be battling out with Nigeria for second place in the group.
Iran does not have any world-class players and will be hard pressed to win a match this summer.
Here are the teams in Group F and their odds to win (live updates at Bodog) and see Group F prop betting lines at the bottom of the page:
The Argentines have not made it past the quarterfinals of the World Cup since 1990, but that may change in Brazil with the squad they have. Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi, who is THE best striker in the world, lead the loaded offense. The defense may be the concern, but can any team keep Argentina from scoring many goals?
Argentina only lost one match is the tough South American qualifying where they finished first. However, that one loss did not mean anything coming in the very last one when they already had the most points.
Messi has the best odds at +800 to win the Golden Boot at Aguero is at +1600 to win the award.
Bosnia and Herzegovina surprisingly won their European qualifying group and the strength of the team is a solid offense led by Edin Dzeko and Vedad Ibisevic. This will be the first World Cup appearance for the squad.
The defense is the issue and that is not good since such a strong Argentina offense is the group as well as a Nigeria squad with a great attacking midfield. Still Bosnia and Herzegovina is a strong team with a great shot at advancing the round of 16.
Nigeria won the 2013 African Cup of Nations, has a solid attacking midfield, and went through World Cup qualifying without a loss. The team is led by the Chelsea duo of MF John Obi Mikel and FW Victor Moses. Their key match may be facing Bosnia and Herzegovina and like the Balkan squad they have a subpar defense.
Nigeria has a talented team that looks to improve on their last two disappointing World Cups where they did not make it out of the group stage in South Africa and did not qualify for Germany.
Iran has never advanced to the round of 16 and it looks as if the will be the case this summer. However, Iran has a good defense, which they will have to play with all the solid offensive teams in the group. Iran is the lowest ranked team by FIFA that is playing in Brazil.
FW Reza Ghoochannejhad plays in the Belgium Jupiter league and besides the counter attack may be the only offensive threat for Iran.
