Spain - Odds to Win 2014 FIFA World Cup

Spain is the reigning World Cup champion and they have the fourth best betting odds to win it in Brazil. They also are the betting favorite to win their group, which includes Holland who they faced in the 2010 World Cup final. In European qualifying Spain went unbeaten, but Italy and Brazil both exposed some weaknesses facing them in the 2013 Confederations Cup.
Spain is great at making teams make mistakes with their time of possession game and passing mastery. Spain is stacked, again, and they finally got the “can’t win the big one” monkey off their back with their win in South Africa.

How They Advanced:
Spain won European qualifying Group I with 20 points and they went unbeaten with six wins and two draws. They won their last four qualifying matches and in that time beat France 1-0 on the road. They had five clean sheets in eight matches and they did not give up more than one goal in any of their matches. While not the toughest group Spain did have France to deal with and a decent Finland squad.
Early Prediction:
Much like the 2010 final the match facing Holland will be a defensive affair, but Spain will come out on top and they will win the group. After their first match facing Holland they will have no problems beating Chile and Australia. They will easily win in the round of 16 and in the quarterfinals they will dispatch of Italy. In the semifinals they will likely face Argentina in a dream match up where they will win. However, they will not win the World Cup for the second time in a row, as they will lose to Brazil.
