Switzerland - Odds to Win 2014 FIFA World Cup

Switzerland won their European qualifying group and was a surprise first pot team that has the second best odds to make it out of their group in Brazil. The Swiss are in one of the weaker groups this summer with France, Honduras, and Ecuador.
The Swiss have a great midfield a solid keeper in Diego Benaglio and went unbeaten in qualifying play, but can they progress far in Brazil? They are an underrated squad that does not really scare anybody and that can be to their advantage. However, they lack real star quality and their offense is not a dynamic one. In qualifying Fabian Schaer was the top goal scorer for the team (3 goals) and he is a defender.

How They Advanced:
In impressive fashion. They won the European qualifying Group E with 24 points going unbeaten in the process. Their defense only surrendered more than two goals in one match and that ended up being a 4-4 draw with Iceland.
Ok, the Swiss were great in qualifying, but they were in one of the weaker Euro groups along with Iceland, Norway, Cyprus, Slovenia, and Albania. Still, they did not lose and in their last three qualifying matches they only conceded one goal.
Early Prediction:
The draw for the Swiss is to their favor and they will beat Ecuador and lose to France. That leaves the easiest match for the last one where they will come out on top facing Honduras. A draw facing Ecuador is not out of the question, but they will still advance because they play so well as a squad and are strong in the midfield.
Getting to the round of 16 will be the furthest the Swiss will go. They will likely play Argentina is the round of 16 and that is simply a match the Swiss will not win.
