Where to Bet on World Cup 2014

World Cup News

Group B Betting Odds

Group B is one of the tougher groups in the World Cup and features the two teams that played in the final in 2010 in defending champion Spain and Holland.

Chile is a very dangerous team that caught fire at the end of qualifying while Australia is an overmatched squad that has, by far, the worst odds to win the group. Both Spain and Holland went unbeaten in their European World Cup qualifying and each squad has a great offense.

Group C Betting Odds

Group C is one of the weaker groups in the World Cup with Colombia having the best odds to win. Colombia is playing in the World Cup for the first time in 16 years and if they do not, at least, make it out of the group it will be a major disappointment.

Ivory Coast has a solid offense, Japan is one of the most technical teams in the tournament, and Greece has a great defense. With the squad they have Colombia should make it out of the group while the other spot is up for grabs.

Group D Betting Odds

Group D is a tough one where there are three teams that have pretty even odds. Top pot seed Uruguay and Italy have odds of +163 with England at +225.

Costa Rica has long shot odds to win the group and they also have the worst odds out of all the 32 teams to win the World Cup. Uruguay is the top seed in the group even through they finished fifth in the South American qualifying process and had to beat Jordan in an intercontinental playoff to make it to Brazil.

Group E Betting Odds

Group E is one of the weaker groups and France has the best odds and needed a miracle in their last match to qualify for Brazil. France stunk it up in the last World Cup and there is a lot of pressure on them to perform this summer.

Switzerland won their European qualifying group and has a solid midfield. Ecuador will be playing on their home continent, but does not have great odds to win the group while Honduras is the big time long shot.

World Cup Odds Impacted by Injured Stars

The World Cup is where stars come to shine and a few teams need their big guns to capture the trophy.

In the beginning of January, there are a few star players injured and while each is on the road back they will be needed next summer for their national squad.

Here are some key players that are currently injured and who are causing some early uncertainty on the World Cup 2014 betting menu at sportsbooks like Bovada.

Group F Betting Odds

Argentina has the second best odds to win the World Cup and, by far, the best odds to win Group F. Not a big shock there, as after them the group is not a strong one. Bosnia and Herzegovina won their group in the European qualifying and they will likely be battling out with Nigeria for second place in the group.

Iran does not have any world-class players and will be hard pressed to win a match this summer.

Group G Betting Odds

Group G is the Group of Death and Germany has the best odds to win it. Germany and Portugal are the teams with good odds to win while the USA and Ghana both have long shot odds.

This is the second World Cup in a row where they are playing in the Group of Death and they advanced to the round of 16 in South Africa.

Germany blew through qualifying and they also have the third best odds to win the World Cup overall. In 2010 Ghana beat the USA in the round of 16.

Group H Betting Odds

Group H is arguably the weakest group in the World Cup, but it also has one of its biggest dark horses in Belgium. Russia cannot be counted out, as they have a great defense and won a European qualifying group that included Portugal and Israel.

South Korea has made it out of the group stage in the last two World Cups. Algeria has the worst odds to win Group H and with good reason since they have a suspect defense and have never advance to the round of 16.

Brazil - Odds to Win 2014 FIFA World Cup

Host Brazil has the best odds to win the World Cup and the only five-time winner is stacked. They won the 2013 Confederations Cup and while they did not have to go through the qualifying process they are unbeaten in their last six friendlies. Also, they did not tune up with cream puffs in those friendlies beating five teams that are playing in the World Cup.

Spain - Odds to Win 2014 FIFA World Cup

Spain is the reigning World Cup champion and they have the fourth best betting odds to win it in Brazil. They also are the betting favorite to win their group, which includes Holland who they faced in the 2010 World Cup final. In European qualifying Spain went unbeaten, but Italy and Brazil both exposed some weaknesses facing them in the 2013 Confederations Cup.
